Snooker Bonanza 2006 Southampton & District Snooker Bonanza
Bishopstoke Institute are the new Champions in the Snooker Bonanza.
In the final, held at the Chandlersford Snooker Centre, Bishopstoke needed the single frame decider to lift the coveted Lawson Trophy, donated to the tournament some 23 years ago. Opponents Cue T's Destroyers from Marchwood were always playing catch-up after Adam Nash won the first frame of the evening. Neil Holland pulled one back for the Marchwood team but Kevin Knight got the better of James Hoskins on the blue. Matt Bennett secured the fourth frame after Captain Shefford wobbled the black in the yellow pocket. Two frames apiece and Adam Nash, who scored a 107 break in the Semi's, was picked to play the all important deciding frame. For Cue T's Neil Holland made a solid start, making good use of a 20 start and potting the first black, but three shots later Nash obtain prime position at the top of the table and rattled in a quick fire 43.. Holland battled but a disastrous miscue saw the white leave the table and Nash increased his lead with 3 reds with blacks. The final red was a luck flook for Nash when it flew into the green pocket off the black, and yellow, yellow, green was all that was needed for Bishopstoke Inst to lift the trophy.
