"After talks with local council officers, it seems certain that C/ford snooker club will not be resited in the future. Council Plans for redevelopment have been abandoned for now after no interest has been shown by any major developers in the south. This is probably due to the poor housing market and the complications of the site itself. Club boss Jim Everett is happy to stay put and will now avoid having to find alternative premises for the snooker club. Recently celebrating his 18th annivesary in the precinct,  Jim remarked " although the club is hidden from the main road, we do have plenty of parking and now have our own outside area for smokers right near the bar, so I hope to refurbish the premises inside and out over the next year or so".

Jim Everetts junior section is now widely recognised as the strongest in the South. Everett’s tireless work and encouragement has produced some of the top young players in the country.

Everett is never happier than working with the kids on Saturdays and is thrilled when they gain national success.

“It’s excellent,” he added. “We’re still waiting for a top pro, but these things take time.”
