Danny Zagaroli has retained the Southampton & District Snooker and Billiards Association's Individual Billiards Scratch Tournament at Cue T's Marchwood. Danny powered his way through the semi's, beating his team captain Terry Azor and amassing 500 + points in 90 minutes play. In the final Danny, playing against Paul Adams who had narrowly beaten John Mullane by 20 points in the other semi, kept up his ruthless style of play and reached a total of 800 + points in 120 minutes of play. Danny has now won this competition six times in the last seven years. A Superb clearance at the Chandlers Ford Snooker Centre from ex-pro Danny Zagaroli, proved to be the highest ever in the history of the Club. His 139 break came in the second frame (£2500 series) against Aaran Newman, although his progress in the Thursday evening event was thwarted by the handicapper.
Danny has been a prominent figure on the Southampton scene for 12 years, and also plays in the local billiards league with Terry Azor and co. Danny is once again the Southampton Billiards Champion, beating Terry Azor in the final with a timely 75 break..... |
