History of the Southampton Social Clubs Individual Knockout Snooker, known as the Mintrum Cup.

EASTLEIGH Railway Institute’s Danny Gallant is the 36th different winner of the Southampton individual snooker title since records began in 1949.

Billy Grimes was the first recorded Town Champion and former Castle Club manager Chris Holland has won the title 13 times over a staggering 41-year period.

In fact, Holland recently ended Gallant’s unbeaten run in Southampton and Winchester league matches this season.

Ex-Saints star Ken Jones became the second highest title-holder when he won his fourth final in 2003, aged 58.
