Peter Maraziotis, one of the top players from the Chandlers Ford Snooker Centre, has just completed a superb 123 clearance in the scratch section of the Under 21 roll-up. With 8 reds down, and just 5 remaining, Peter took on the most tricky of blues to the top pocket, potted it and regained good position for the clearance. Well done Peter.

here is the official report from Tim Dunkley :-

PETER Maraziotis lived up to his ‘Ice-Man’ nickname to chalk up a massive 123 break in an Under-21 tournament at Chandler’s Ford SC.

But the 19-year-old from West End admitted he was shaking as he approached a first competitive century.

“It was such a relief when I potted that green,” he said. “It took a weight off my shoulders.”

A week before heading up to Leeds for his EASB Pro-Ticket Tour debut, Maraziotis was competing in a scratch cash knockout.

After knocking in a 51 in a 3-1 first-round victory over Will Baird, 17, he faced Billy Castle (Marchwood) on the match-table.

Maraziotis took a 2-1 lead with the third-highest break in the history of the club’s junior competitions.

“It started with a long red,” he explained.

“Billy played a good safety shot and that was the only shot I could go for. I cannoned a red and landed nicely on the black. That opened up a few more reds and I knew straight away there was a good chance of making a nice break.

“I started shaking on the last couple of reds”

“I had to play the last red with the rest. It was straight, so it was hard to get position.

“That was when things started getting tough.”

Maraziotis, whose previous high break was 97, took a blue off the red but nearly snookered himself on a long yellow.

On 98, he left the cue-ball close to the bottom cushion with a straight green off its spot into the middle.

“You don’t get many chances to make centuries,” he said.

“I was tight on the cushion and had to play it dead weight. I was relying on the table because it could so easily have drifted off.

“I hit it perfectly.”

Maraziotis dispatched the last four colours with confidence.

Castle, 15, took the next two for a 3-2 victory.
